Paul Donahoe Wrestles His Way Back to the Top

via gaywired

Ask any publicist: All it takes to bounce back from public humiliation is the proper spin. (Vanessa Williams, anyone?) Last year, nationally-ranked wrestler Paul Donahoe was kicked off his University of Nebraska team for exposing himself on a gay porn site. Now that he’s been given a second chance and proven his worthiness—he recently transferred to Pennsylvania’s Edinboro University, has been reinstated by the NCAA, and is ranked number one in the country in his weight class—it’s time for damage control.

The unapologetic wrestler tells the Boston Globe that he’s been the subject of nationwide ridicule but is grateful for all his new coaches have done for him. He’s also understandably bitter. "I didn't do anything illegal," he says. "I didn't hurt anyone. I don't think I did anything wrong. Who should I apologize to?"

Donahoe says his dismissal from the team was unfair. “For one, there's plenty of athletes throughout the University of Nebraska who have had DUIs and who have been in fights and are still playing. But I guess that's OK. Posing nude, I guess, is worse than someone drinking and driving and risking someone's life, in their eyes."

However the university claims Donahoe was also guilty of violating other NCAA rules which they declined to name.

So, how does a handsome athlete at the top of his game end up naked on the internet? You can ask the hundreds of others who’ve walked down that road (Riley Skinner and Jiri Tlusty are two of my recent favorites), but this particular story begins with MySpace. Donahoe says he and another teammate received multiple offers to pose for fratmen.tv and ended up with a free trip to L.A. and several thousand bucks to show for it. "Obviously, I did it for the money," the Globe quotes him as saying. "We kept thinking no one would ever find out because it was a gay website and we really wanted that money." Still, the hetero-identified Donahoe can handle the gay jeers he’s gotten, saying “it doesn't matter” what people think about his sexuality. “If a guy wants to be with a guy, who cares?"

Perhaps the worst part of the scandal is that it was all for nothing. Donahoe says he was forced to cough up all of his porn money and donate it to a nonprofit. Sucks. But cheer up, Paul. That which does not kill us makes us stronger. And from bad situations come important lessons and other perks. Sure, millions of strangers have seen your willy, but 1,400 of them have become your Facebook friends. That’s got to soften the blow somewhat. Let’s just hope none of them post any moneymaking opportunities on your wall.

Paul Donahoe wins league wrestling title

Via outsports

Paul Donahoe, who gained notoriety after being kicked off the University of Nebraska wrestling team after posing naked for a gay porn site, capped off a perfect regular season by winning the 125-pound title at the Eastern Wrestling League tournament this weekend.

Donahoe, who now wrestles for powerhouse Edinboro in northwestern Pennsylvania, breezed to the title with a 17-7 win the semifinals and a technical fall 24-9 in the final. He finished the conference season at 31-0 and was ranked as the top 125-pounder in the nation.

Donahoe will wrestle for the national title at the NCAA tournament in St. Louis March 19-21. In 2007, while at Nebraska, he won the 125-pound national title. By all accounts, he has fit in well at Edinboro and I am rooting for him to take another title.

Why is doing porn so big a deal?

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

You see how the world is a better place without those drama queens who think doing porn is so big a deal? They create pointless dramas and make life difficult for young men who want to show off. They literally scared away the guys and that's a bad news for us as viewers and the boys as models. In a few years time all the guys left who don't mind showing off will be old and tired men like John McCain.

I have nothing but disdain for the blogger who outed Paul. Paul needed at least a few months to get back on track. I think he has done nothing wrong at all. If I must say he has made a mistake it would be his inconsistency in career move. Mind you, fratmen has high standards and it doesn't take anyone who applies. An appearance on fratmen may actually OPEN DOORS for someone who is interested in mainstream modeling, running his own cam site or being an internet celebrity. But not for someone who wants to stay completely anonymous. And I'm not being judgmental here. I won't recommend a person who wants to stay anonymous to go on fratmen the same way I won't recommend an aspiring singer to enroll in medical school, simply because doing so does not help him reach his goal. Posing on fratmen, or going to medical school, is not inherently wrong, just that it may not be consistent to one's own choice of aspiration.

I saw this coming for a while and I wrote an article about the pros and cons of participating in porn back in April. In short, the article was about my realization that porn stars are NOT used contrary to popular and my prior belief. If a person is very smart in terms of using his charm and attractiveness to attract eyeball and build a fan base on the internet, he can end up making massive amount of money.

http://www.prepular.com/2008/04/porn...e-need-in.html

I'd even say given the power of internet, if you're an aspiring model and you are doing whatever it takes to get famous quickly, the fastest way is to create your own "scandal" like this one.

Read this if you support Paul Donahoe aka Fratmen Nash

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Today I have spoken to Tim Flynn, the head coach of wrestling at Edinboro University. Edinboro took Paul Donahoe in after he was dismissed from the Nebraska wrestling team.

For those of you who have actually watched the Fratmen Nash jerk off clip, you would agree that Nash looks like an angel from Heaven! Paul Donahoe definitely has sacrificed a lot for our enjoyment. Since the outing drama broke out, he was dismissed from the Nebraska-Lincoln wrestling team, his mum, sisters, teammates and friends were worried to death for his well being. Hundreds of blog posts and a handful of national newspapers covered the story (not in a flattering way). As you can imagine, the drama places a lot of stress on him. Paul even broke down to tears when a reporter asked him about the possibility that scrutiny would follow him to Edinboro, his new school. And he is only 23 years old.

Since he was on a scholarship to attend Nebraska, transferring to another school means he may no longer be eligible for the same level of financial assistance. There are other hassles involved in transferring to Edinboro: getting to adapt to a new coach in a less prestigious school, unfamiliar teammates and training routines, unwanted attention and harassment from other students to name a few. Also, he has recently become the bullying target of other competitive wrestlers, one asshole left this comment on the blog:

all of you are morons, how sure are you he had his second chance- he's not yet reinstated by the NCAA. They still have to decide if Nash won't turn wrestling into a gay circus

The monetary and psychological cost have far exceeded what he has received. While doing porn may be a sensible move for those who aspire to make it big in the modeling or adult entertainment industry and who are willing to take a calculated risk, it is not the right career move for everyone.

For kids like Paul who have so much going on, he is much better off not showing his body for the world to see. And this is coming from someone who absolutely adores his great tanned body and big juicy wang.

What is done is done, and I hope Paul continues to thrive. Paul does not come from a wealthy family and he just wants to focus on getting a degree and continuing to wrestle. One of the visitor left a comment informing us that the best way to support Paul right now is to donate to the wrestling team that supports him in this critcial time. I ask you to seriously consider donating to the Edinboro University wrestling program. I have spoken to the head coach Tom Flynn and he welcomes donation of any amount. You can write a check to Edinboro University Wrestling and mail it to:

Tim Flynn
455 Scotland Rd.
Edinboro, PA 16444

Feel free to ask Tim any questions regarding helping Paul and his team, his email address is tflynn@edinboro.edu.

I know one of the Prepular readers has done it and so have I. Please show some support to Paul and show what fraternity is really about - offering help to a brother when help is needed.

Kurt Wild fired from Subway for gay porn past!

Sunday, September 7, 2008

Wow, I don't know Subway actually hires gay porn stars to serve sandwiches, I've seen pizza boys arrive with hardons in vintage gay porn, I never would have thought of buying a Teriyaki sandwich would be such a steamy experience in real life!

22-year-old Kurt Wild has worked with Corbin Fisher, Buckshot, Lucas Entertainment, Hot House, Titan and Falcon. He was fired from a Subway restaurant outside of St. Louis after a customer recognized him and complained to the management (!?). Very little information has been given about this particularly difficult customer, although I'd assume he's a male and he's a queen. Who the fuck else watches gay porn?

I'd be so happy if I saw a hot gay porn star working at a sandwich shop close to me, I'll eat there everyday!

Some conspiracy theorists suggested that the drama was caused by some bitter old queens who threatened Wild to have sex or outing him publicly. I also suspect that the story was more than that. Logically it didn't add up. Now, here's an email Wild had written:

(If you happen to know the details about the drama, tip me off using the commenting function.)

"Hey everyone. I just wanted to tell everyone that I was just fired from my work at subway because I have done gay porn. A customer said they wouldn't even eat there at subway anymore because of my past work and said that if I wasn't fired then they would boycott the store. What I say is, if one person can try to ruin me everywhere I work... maybe I should take a stand and boycott their store too if they can't let people's privacy be treated right. I should have the right to work anywhere I can and it isn't right or fair that people can keep me from working simply because of a "gay" issue. If a girl did what we do it would probably be ok.. and if a guy does straight porn.. he is bragged about. When I do gay porn, I feel a bit lynched for the rest of my life. Not right. Thanks for reading.
- Kurt Wild"

His firing has a deja vu aspect about it. Comparing to Paul Ponahoe, a nationally ranked wrestler who was dismissed from the the Nebreska team for posing on Fratmen, Wild is much less apologetic. His background is quite interesting too, justusboys reports that Wild is actually a father of three children, and has a long term girlfriend whom he calls "wife".

From when it has become so socially unacceptable to fuck? Why is it acceptable to fuck girls on tape but not guys?

It is the same extremism and narrow mindedness that makes me wonder do we, as a society, evolve? The more important thing I worried about is, the recent dramas might have scared away the exhibitionist guys who want to explore their sexuality and experiment, resulting in a decline of both the number and the quality of guys we see on the internet. We need more hot young men like Kurt Wild and Paul Donahoe. I don't want to be left with old, fake and tired guys on the brink of death like John McCain!

What do you guys think?

A fresh start for Paul Donahoe

Thursday, September 4, 2008

Please feel free to leave words of encouragement to Paul using the commenting function. I know some of Paul's friends at NU actually visit this site. Or you can click here for the latest development.

Paul Donahoe is having a fresh start at boro. Good on him.

Apparently, he was under a lot of stress for the recent drama, and did not want to further comment on the issue nor the rumored lawsuit against NU. Paul was, however, very thankful that Edinboro gave him the opportunity for a fresh start.

Asked if he was concerned scrutiny will follow him to Edinboro, Donahoe's eyes filled with tears.

"I'm just really thankful they have given me this opportunity to come here and finish my career," said Donahoe, who was 86-18 in three seasons at Nebraska. "So far everyone I've met has been great."

Way before all these dramas, I was already in love with Paul. See this post? Check the date, the "scandal" broke out in early August and my post was dated July 11. Back then I was totally smitten by this incredibly good looking man by the name of "Nash". 3 weeks after the outing drama, everyone seemed to have move on, and that's exactly what I have hoped for.

It is despicable and weak for the scarlet project assholes to do what they did. What goes around comes around, bitch!

Paul's mum actually had a profile on one of the social networking sites and I visited it today, to protect her privacy, I'll call her "Lynn". "Lynn" seemed like an amazingly nice woman. She seemed to be very proud of her son despite what happened, and she mentioned his outstanding wrestling achievements in her profile. She wrote that Paul wrestled from a very young age, and when he took first place in the 125 lb weight class, the whole family went to the stadium and saw him win.

I suspect a lot of these self-righteous people who jumped out and pointed fingers at Paul and Kenny were down right hypocrites. Many of their arguments didn't even make logical sense. I did not see anything wrong on their parts.

Scarlet assholes, what did Paul do that you didn't? Did you not masturbate? Not even once?

Speaking of lacking moral, I see politicians starting an unnecessary war and sending naive18-year-old young men to Iraq for the sake of their own economic benefit much more unethical than posing nude for some really tastefully done photos.

Words of support for Paul

It is heartwarming for me to see that some people chose to stand up for Paul and our freedom of expression. Here are some of the replies written on forums:

"If you guys have any questions of why Paul and Kenny did this and if they are homo sexueals than I reccomend you ask them face to face instead of hideing behind a screen name and acting like there scared to talk to whoever you are. They are part of a d1 wrestling family in Lincoln Nebraska and the husker wrestling family is shocked but will still support them becuase there teammates/ brothers. This put shame on those two but the husker wrestlers wont forget the leadership they showed and the good times they had with eachother ( no pun intended). Mark Manning is a great guy and if you got to know him like I do youd see why his teams place higher than Mark Johnsons" posted by "Greenlatern"

"I am not offended or put off by their actions. I do not believe their actions were immoral. They have every legal right to do what they did and I support that. I am glad to see we didn't have an overly homophobic reaction here. I wish them luck and hope they get back into wrestling or such other endeavors to which they aspire." posted by "Radical"

I want a show of hands of people who still support Paul no matter what!

Paul Donahoe interview

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Ever interested in knowing more about Paul? I found an old interview done in 2006, way before all these dramas on Daily Nebraskan. Apparently Paul loves steak dinner. Comparing his new pictures with his old, I noticed two things: (1) He's getting darker and hotter; (2) Sometimes being too hot may land you in trouble.

Davison, Mich., native Paul Donahoe won his 125-pound weight class at last weekend's Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. The sophomore is currently ranked 11th by NWCA/USA Today and will face wrestlers from South Dakota State University and Northern Colorado at the NU Coliseum this weekend when the Cornhuskers host their first home dual meets of the year.

What meal will you eat after your last match of the season?

After the last match? Probably a big steak dinner.

Who is better: Dan Gable or Cael Sanderson?

Well, they're both good wrestlers, but Cael would be better. He has won everything, but you have to remember Kyle Smith is up there, too.

What animal does (NU) Coach (Mark) Manning most resemble when he's yelling at the team?

(Laughs) He's kind of like a little koala bear.

What's the last good movie you've seen?

Last good movie I saw was "Rocky IV."

What's your favorite wrestling movie?

I don't have a favorite wrestling movie. I don't really like them.

Do you think Michigan will ever give back the half of the 1997 national championship that they owe Nebraska?

Whoa, uh, I don't know. Too bad they didn't play in a game.

Which is better: the Big 12 Conference or the Big Ten Conference?

Well, the Big 12 produces more All-Americans, so I would say the Big 12.

A personal message for Paul Donahoe aka fratmen nash

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Why can't you big mouth "scarlet" motherfuckers just get a life? Why you keep messing around with these guys? What's your problem bitch? I haven't been so mad for months.

Paul, the most important thing you need to do right now is to figure out your priority: It seems unlikely that there will be that many coaching opportunities left for you given many colleges try to be politically correct. Fear not, if you set making big money as your goal, then there are many new opportunities for you. The coverage somehow made you a really popular person within the gay circles. And many highly successful people - male or female - had been busted for posing naked before, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vanessa Hudgens, Madonna just to name a few. These people didn't let what happen to stop them from achieving great success. How the rest of your life plays out depends on how well you capitalize your "fame". You can make big money if you know how to make use of your publicity.
